Project Overview
The Zhongshan Scenic Area stands out from other national tourist attractions due to its unique location in the downtown area. The site is positioned east of the park, with only a road separating it from the park, and both natural and urban factors influence the site.
The project includes a hotel and a tourist center, with tourists accessing the park via a bridge that spans the road. While both the hotel and tourist center are public spaces, it would be inappropriate to completely merge them, considering the privacy and management needs of the hotel. The complex relationship between these two functions makes it an ideal foundation for my design.
By focusing on three key interactions—vision, hearing, and accessibility—the project organized the various spaces in response to both the external environment and the internal functional requirements of the project.
Project Site
Zhongshan Scenic Area is special in terms of its location, it is in downtown of Nanjing, but also next to natural scenery, attracting millions of tourists yearly, from both Nanjing and other cities.
Project Site is just next to the scenic area, right between natural and urban environments.

Context Responding
The project have a relatively simple shape, while each part of the project dealing with different context at the sane time.

Mass Analysis
Program -- Hotel & Visitor Center
The project includes a hotel and a tourist center, with tourists accessing the park via a bridge that spans the road. While both the hotel and tourist center are considered as public, they are different type of public spaces, not appropriate to mix them together.

Interweaving
Hotel and Visitor Center are sperated in most aspects, while they interweaved together on the second floor plan, tourist center go through under the hotel in the middle part of the project, creating visual and hearing connection among different public space.
